Let's Grow Together Okanagan presents
Get Found at Mackie House
The hands-on Google workshop, with afternoon tea.
Bring your laptop. Leave with your Google profile done.
Most Okanagan businesses are losing customers on Google for reasons that take an afternoon to fix. So instead of another talk about SEO, this is a workshop where you actually do it.
You'll sit down with your laptop and, with me walking the room, fix your Google Business Profile section by section. By 2:00 it's done. Not planned. Done.
Your primary category
The one setting that decides what you rank for. Most were picked in 2019 and never checked.
Your services list
Almost everyone leaves it empty. Google reads it to decide if you're relevant.
Your description
Rewritten in the words your town actually types, not marketing words.
Your photos
Ten real ones, uploaded, captioned, and a plan for one a month.
Your first post
Published before you leave, so the profile looks alive.
A review system
A text template that goes out the day a job wraps. From 14 reviews to 40 in a season.
The day, hour by hour
The tea
Not a coffee break.
Afternoon tea for twenty by Specialtea Occasions, in the main room of a 1910 lakeside heritage house. Forty minutes at a table with five other local owners, and one question on a card in the middle: who is your ideal referral partner? The Google profile is the reason to come. The table is the reason you'll remember it.
What's included
Two teaching sessions and two hands-on sessions, about three hours of work on your own profile
One-on-one help at the clinic table
Afternoon tea service
A printed six-page workbook with the checklists and the review-request template
Seven bonus entries in our Lucky #7 audit giveaway, and one full audit drawn in the room
What to bring
Your laptop and charger (a tablet works, a phone does not)
Your Google Business Profile login, and if you're not sure you have one, we'll help you sort it before the day
One photo of your work or your storefront
A business card or two, for the tea table
Who this is for
Owners and managers of Okanagan and Shuswap businesses that have, or should have, a Google profile. Any industry: trades, clinics, shops, restaurants, studios, services. If you've never touched yours, you're exactly the person this is for.
It's not for marketers, agencies, or anyone hoping for a trick. There isn't one. This is the boring, reliable stuff, done in the right order, with someone standing behind you.

Your host
Corryn Bamber runs TWA Studio in Vernon, a web design and SEO studio that has spent seven years getting Okanagan businesses onto page one, and Let's Grow Together Okanagan, a free group for local business owners who want to be found online. Everything in this workshop is what she does for clients, taught so you can do it yourself.
Questions
Yes. Search your business name on Google. If a profile shows up with "Own this business?", nobody has claimed it and we'll start the claim with you. If nothing shows up, we create one at the table.
You'll get an email a week before with three ways to find your login. If none work, reply and we'll sort it with you before the day. It's the one thing we can't fix at the table, so we fix it early.
A 25-car lot at the house. Carpool if you can; the confirmation email has a carpool line.
Absolutely. Whoever will actually maintain the profile should be the one in the seat.
Tickets are transferable to another Okanagan business owner right up to the morning of. Email design@twa.studio with their name. All sales are final, no refunds.
