    The challenge

A short, busy season needs a steady hand

A tourism season moves fast. Visit Lake Country needed someone to show up on social every few days, find the stories worth telling and keep the community chatting, while the website and Google profile stayed accurate for visitors planning their trip.

    Meet Visit Lake Country

Wine trails, farm gates and lake days

Visit Lake Country is the tourism site for Lake Country, BC, the community between Kelowna and Vernon. It promotes the Scenic Sip Wine Trail, the Farm Gate Trail, the Beer and Cider Trail, places to stay and eat, local shops and events to visitors planning a day or a getaway.

    Project vision

“Make Lake Country the obvious stop for anyone planning an Okanagan day out.”

    The work

Social media was the main event

Social media management led the project, with a Google Business Profile and website upkeep backing it up so everything visitors found told the same story.

    Visit Lake Country Instagram feed

    Step 1

    Social media management

We ran Visit Lake Country's Instagram and Facebook from start to finish: planning, posting, Reels, Stories and everything in between. Every post was built to make someone want to visit.

    Captions and community

Every caption was written in Visit Lake Country's warm, place-proud voice. We replied to comments, answered questions and shared visitors' stories, so followers felt heard and kept coming back.

    Results at a glance

A summer of numbers worth bragging about

    Where the views came from

    Instagram did the heavy lifting

Lake Country is scroll-stopping scenery, and Instagram is where visual travel planning happens. That is where 93% of the views landed.

Instagram delivered 93% of Visit Lake Country's views, 212,124 against 15,046 on Facebook, with 20K accounts reached on Instagram and 9.6K viewers on Facebook

    The work

    Content curation with local businesses

We worked with local businesses, filmed video on location, edited it into short Reels and curated photos from the community. The feed showed real Lake Country, not stock.

    From views to interactions

Views are nice. Engagement is better.

Those views turned into real interactions: likes, saves, shares, comments and profile visits from people genuinely interested in visiting Lake Country.

Visit Lake Country gained 689 Instagram followers and 80 Facebook followers over the summer, and 1 in 25 Instagram views turned into a like, save, share or comment

    The work

Curated content for the summer shuttle and other initiatives

Beyond the day-to-day feed, we created launch content for the summer shuttle and other tourism initiatives, turning each one into a story people wanted to share.

    Our rhythm

Consistency, planned a month at a time

    01

    Plan

We map the next 30 days around six themes: Sip, Savour, Shore, Trail, Culture and Local.

    02

    Collect

We gather photos and video from local businesses, the community and our own shoots.

    03

    Create

We edit Reels, write captions and design graphics, then share them with the tourism team.

    04

    Post and engage

We publish every other day with Stories on the same days, then reply to comments and share community stories.

    The outcome

A summer of growth that was earned, not bought

227K views with no ad spend

769 new followers who chose to follow

A feed that posted steadily all summer

Local businesses featured and community stories shared

We're proud of what this summer built and can't wait to get back to it for next year's tourism season.
